Cycling from Fonelas to Gorafe
I stayed one extra day in Fonelas since the weatherforecast predicted it would be sunny again the next day. It was not, but I started cycling again anyway.
I passed the goodlooking farm Cortijo Las Chozas and Flappie greeted me enthusiastic, and even without barking ...
The route was nice and quiet but the sky was gray all day and did not bring me any joy. But for the time being I was mainly descending and so the ride was quite easy.
At another spot in the "middle of nowhere" was another cortijo and there these beautiful horses were peacefully having lunch.
But now it was time for the UpHill ... The most northern point of todays route was also (almost) the highest point of today. My hope was to get to the Hotel Reina Isabel as soon as possible, to have a rest and a beer. That was not easy, but I managed. There rooms are from € 90 (for a singleroom) but regular beers are € 3. As tapa they "serve" some peanuts ...
After those non-peanuts (which I didn't take) I only had to push for some 20mins more. Then I "fell" down (almost) all the way down to Gorafe.
To have to struggle uphill again for the final 4kms. I was tired now and decided to use the first shadow to come for a last break. In case there is no shoulder anywhere in sight (during the whole of today, thanks to being in a narrow valley or locked up by oliveyards everywhere) I use my tentbag and safetyvest to help the cardrivers to keep there cars from getting damaged haha. They have to keep 1.5mts distance from bicyclists by law anyway, and that is a very strict rule.
I was looking carefully for a wildcampspot since there seemed not to be a hotel here and I found three spots close to the entrance of Gorafe. So far so good.
But there was a hotel, although I noticed it rather late haha. I asked for a room which costed € 40 and decided to take it. That evening I had two beers (with simple tapas) and lateron two granitas (crushed ice with some sirop).
I had a good sleep and breakfast. But then my stay here ended very rapidly ... I found a pricelist in the room that mentioned a price of € 30, so not the € 40 I had paid. Since I actually had planned to stay another night to explore Gorafe today I asked about that € 10 difference.
The owner joked about it, said the price was actually € 60 or so, and kept on joking. I showed him the picture I had made of the pricelist and he still kept on joking. Then we went to my room where I showed him that list and he grabbed it from the door. He said that list is 10 years old. So it was in the room for 10 years and they didn't care about it.
He got Very Mad at me (!), and also at his wife ... He refused me to stay any longer there, so I left. Bye bye Hotel Posada Los Gullos.

Great but gray views today.
I cycled 24kms and 192vms today but decended 248vms, so 56vms were lost haha.
